UPDATES / CHANGELOG

What changed, and when.

The desktop app updates itself over the network. It checks a manifest on the release server, pulls the build peer to peer over Hyperdrive from other nodes, verifies the sha256 against the manifest, and asks you before installing. If the swarm cannot be reached it falls back to a direct download. This page is the human-readable log of what each release carried.

Release log

NEWEST FIRST
1.0.9 · CURRENT SEP 3, 2026
The model list follows the provider you picked
+ In manual selection the MODEL list shows only what the chosen machine serves. It used to show every provider's models, your own included, because it read the Automatic/Manual switch backwards.
1.0.8 SEP 3, 2026
Six languages, one-click updates, and picking a provider actually picks it
+ The app speaks French, German, Dutch, Turkish, Hindi and Urdu, picked from your system language or in Settings. Same for darkgpt.ai.
+ A new version shows a banner across the top with a single UPDATE NOW: download, verify, open the installer.
+ In manual selection, clicking a provider selects it, and the chat switches to a model that machine actually serves.
+ Earnings shown locally use the ledger's real rate (0.1 DCN per 1k tokens); the invented bonus multiplier is gone.
+ A node that quits cleanly leaves the "online" count immediately.
1.0.6 SEP 3, 2026
Your node stays in your own list
+ After switching to provider mode, the app re-finds its own node within seconds, so your models are selectable again instead of only other people's.
+ Counts say what they measure: "Nodes online" is every desktop app on the network; "This node" counts other machines connected to you, not your own client.
+ The log file no longer fills with stats dumps.
1.0.5 SEP 2, 2026
Version where you can see it
+ The version badge sits next to the app title in the header.
+ The provider's "clients connected" count drops sockets that closed, instead of counting ghosts.
1.0.4 SEP 2, 2026
The app runs Ollama for you, and finds its way back to the swarm
+ Provider mode installs Ollama itself (verified against the official release checksum), starts it, keeps it running, and pulls models with a progress bar. No terminal.
+ If the connection to a provider drops, the client looks again right away instead of waiting on the next scheduled lookup; a missed health check no longer strands a provider as offline.
+ The provider screen says SERVING only when Ollama is actually up, the peer tag follows the peer count, and speeds come from Ollama's own counters.
+ Opening the app twice focuses the running copy instead of crashing.
+ A log file at ~/Library/Logs/DarkGPT P2P/main.log.
1.0.3 SEP 2, 2026
Updates you can see
+ The app shows its version in the status bar and in Settings, with a "Check for updates" button.
+ A new release now shows a banner with Download and Install. Earlier builds checked for updates but never told you; anyone on 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 needs to download this one by hand.
+ Progress from the swarm download is shown, along with the fallback to a direct download when no peers can be reached.
1.0.2 SEP 2, 2026
Provider sidebar fixes
+ The "DarkGPT models" count in the sidebar read 0/0 in provider mode. It now counts your Ollama models against the catalog.
+ An idle node shows a dash for success rate instead of 0.0%.
+ Delivered as the first in-app update over the swarm.
1.0.1 SEP 2, 2026
macOS app released
+ Signed and notarised DMG for Apple Silicon. One download, no Gatekeeper workaround.
+ Node identity keys created inside the Secure Enclave, with an attestation clients verify and challenge before sending a prompt.
+ The provider screen draws only real swarm peers. Every animated node is an actual connection; pulses only travel to peers with a request in flight.
+ Chat history lives in memory for the session. Nothing is written to disk.
+ The model picker lists only models a connected provider actually serves.
+ Per-machine model recommendations with estimated tok/s and DCN per day.
+ Real role switching: a dedicated provider screen, and the provider stops when you switch to client mode.
PRE-RELEASE SEP 1, 2026
Wallet and telemetry
+ Wallet creation works end to end; unified addresses of any valid length are accepted.
+ Fabricated dashboard readouts removed. The numbers you see are measured or absent.
+ Opt-out fleet telemetry: app version, hardware class, model names, error counts. Never prompts, responses or wallets.
PRE-RELEASE AUG 31, 2026
Updates over the swarm, DCN settlement
+ App updates pulled peer to peer over Hyperdrive with sha256 verification and a direct-download fallback. Every published build is seeded to the swarm.
+ DCN settlement on testnet: token issuance worker, per-provider reward ledger, faucet.
+ Rewards are billed from Ollama's own token count, not a text estimate.
+ Beta mode: earnings tracked, payouts and purchases off until phase 2.
+ Sign in with an emailed code, alongside Google.
PRE-RELEASE AUG 29, 2026
Setup and models
+ Ollama setup walkthrough with recommendations based on your machine's specs.
+ Models nobody serves are deselected, not just greyed out.
+ darkgpt.ai goes up with the launch signup.

You will not need to come back here for the next one

Installed apps hear about a release from the manifest and pull it from the swarm. This page is for the people who like to read before they click.
